ELMP Data Use and Ethics

ELMP Data Use and Ethics In-Person / Online

This session will provide an overview of the ethics surrounding data use. If a dataset is accessible to you, does that mean you can--or should--use it? What are some issues you need to consider before you conduct research or analyze a dataset? Why is anonymizing data so important, and what does it mean for data to be made confidential? This session will also cover the responsibility that we all have when conducting research and handling datasets, regardless of their sensitivity.
